Connecting Futures: An Insider Look at a Career at the Bar from Denis Chang’s Chambers

On 14 November 2024, Chambers hosted an Open House event attended by students hoping to gain insight into life at the Bar. Members of our Chambers had dynamic and engaging discussions with law students considering a career at the Bar.    

Denis Chang SC and Hectar Pun SC conveyed to the students the fundamental ethos of our Chambers and shared their own experiences starting out at the Bar, offering a comprehensive introduction to our identity and core values.

Richard Yip and Andrew Lau provided insight into working on cases across various practice areas. Richard discussed his experience handling a complex multi-jurisdictional commercial fraud case in the arbitration and litigation contexts, ZS Capital Fund SPC v Astor Asset Management 3 Ltd [2024] HKCFI 1535 (see the commentary here). Andrew shared his experience working on a widely reported judicial review concerning the broadcast of an episode of a satirical television program, RTHK Programme Staff Union & Anor v Communications Authority [2024] HKCA 845 (see the commentary here).
