Ms Jacqueline Leong KC SC Awarded Life Membership at the 75th Anniversary Gala Dinner of the Hong Kong Bar

Chambers is pleased to share that at the 75th Anniversary Gala Dinner of the Hong Kong Bar Association held on 1 November 2024, our member Ms Jacqueline Leong KC SC was awarded Life Membership of the Hong Kong Bar in recognition of her exemplary achievements and contributions to the Bar and the legal community in Hong Kong. The Life Membership is the highest accolade conferred by the Hong Kong Bar to those whose contributions to the legal community have been extraordinary. The award is particularly meaningful as members of the Hong Kong Bar, including many members of Chambers, gathered to celebrate its 75th Anniversary.   

Our Head of Chambers, Mr Denis Chang CBE, KC, SC, JP gave a speech on the occasion and described Ms Leong KC SC as the “Grand Lady of the Hong Kong Bar”.   

Ms Leong KC SC was the first woman in the history of Hong Kong to be appointed Queen’s Counsel (now KC) in 1990 and was also, as she loves to put it, the first “woman Chairman” of the Hong Kong Bar.
