
Anson Wong Yu Yat spoke at the “National Security in the Courtroom” Conference held at the City University of Hong Kong
On 13 July 2024, Anson Wong Yu Yat participated in a conference titled “National Security in the Courtroom” held at the City University of Hong Kong as one of the speakers.
Bringing together legal experts, scholars and practitioners, the event fostered meaningful discussions and insights into the National Security Law’s impact on Hong Kong’s legal landscape. Anson’s presentation, titled “Judicial Deference and National Security: A Tangled Story”, explored the intricate connection between judicial deference and national security. Specifically, he discussed the recent judgment by the Hong Kong Court of Appeal regarding the song “Glory to Hong Kong”, and analysed the concept of deference in the context of national security.
