Annotated Ordinances of Hong Kong: Crimes Ordinance (Cap. 200) (2025 re-issue edition)
Randy Shek of Denis Chang’s Chambers was invited to be the annotator of the 2025 re-issue edition of the Crimes Ordinance (Cap 200). This latest re-issue will be published by LexisNexis Butterworth this month. The Crimes Ordinance is a major legislation enacted in 1974 to consolidate 20 old English Acts of Parliament that formed part of the criminal law in Hong Kong. It covers diverse areas including explosive substances offences, criminal damages to properties, sexual offences, forgery offences, conspiracy offences, and many other offences practitioners encounter in their criminal practice.
The Annotated Crimes Ordinance follows the release of the 2025 re-issue edition of the Criminal Procedure Ordinance (Cap 221), also annotated by Randy, which offers the latest case law and commentary on criminal law and procedure, provides an essential guidance for legal professionals on procedural matters in criminal cases.
