Adam Crane
Partner, Baker & Partners

Adam advises insolvency practitioners, court appointed officers, creditors, debtors, financial institutions, directors, officers, investors, shareholders and other stakeholders in insolvency and dispute resolution proceedings.

Adam has been recognised as an INSOL Fellow following the successful completion of the INSOL International Global Insolvency Practice Course 2023/2024.

Fleur O’Driscoll
Partner, Baker & Partners

Fleur is a Partner based in the Baker & Partners Cayman Islands office specialising in commercial and civil disputes and insolvency.

Fleur’s disputes practice encompasses corporate, commercial, funds, cryptocurrency and trusts together with just and equitable winding up proceedings and Cayman Islands post-privatisation share valuation disputes.

Fleur has developed a particular expertise in managing high value, multi-jurisdictional disputes involving Hong Kong-listed, Singapore-listed and US-listed companies and is skilled at advising stakeholders regarding the convening and management of contentious general meetings and shareholder activism generally.

Richard Yip

One of the strongest junior barristers around, his stand-out qualities include an excellent handle on the detail, an insightful legal mind, and sound commercial sense.

Richard has a broad civil practice with a focus on shareholder disputes, commercial litigation, financial regulation, competition law and personal injuries. He joined Denis Chang’s Chambers in 2011. Prior to joining the bar, Richard was a corporate finance solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills.

He represented four respondents in the second case before the Hong Kong Competition Tribunal, where the economic efficiency defence was raised for the very first time in Hong Kong. He was also involved in a number of substantial shareholder disputes, including Acropolis Ltd v W&Q Investment Ltd, 2018 HKCA 379 (appeal against interlocutory injunction concerning the EGM voting results of a listed company) and Waddington Ltd v Chan Chun Hoo Thomas, HCA 3291/2003 (trial of a double derivative action). Richard is also actively involved in the community and academia. He is a part-time lecturer at the University of Hong Kong.

Thomas WK Wong

Thomas is a Barrister called to the Hong Kong and English Bars, and one of a handful who maintains an active and vibrant practice in both jurisdictions. He has a broad Commercial, Company / Insolvency (including Offshore) litigation, and arbitration practice.

Thomas’s cases often involve parties from the PRC and Hong Kong. Indeed, he has more than a decade’s experience serving clients in Hong Kong, the Greater China Region and internationally. He also has considerable experience in Company / Insolvency matters including in Offshore jurisdictions, and Hong Kong Chancery matters. In particular, he has been acting as a led junior in the Cayman Islands and the BVI, and will be fighting a 2-month Company trial before the Cayman Grand Court in June and July. His work has been recognised by his ranking as a Leading Junior (Tier 2) in Hong Kong Bar – Commercial Disputes for five consecutive years to date, as well as a Rising Star in The English Bar Offshore – Commercial Disputes, both by Legal 500.

Thomas is a FCIArb and FHKIArb, and is on the HKIAC’s List of Arbitrators as well as the SIAC’s Reserve Panel of Arbitrators. He is sitting as arbitrator in multiple arbitrations, and has also sat as Deputy District Judge.

Tara Liao

Tara was recognised by Legal 500 as a leading junior in commercial dispute resolution from 2021 to 2025. She appears regularly in the Court of Appeal, the High Court and in arbitrations with a focus on commercial injunctions, arbitrations, company, insolvency, civil fraud, trust and cross-border disputes. She sat as a Deputy District Judge in 2021 and 2023. 

Tara has a keen interest in arbitration and was a committee member of HK45, an active young arbitration practitioners group in Asia formed under the auspice of HKIAC.  

Prior to joining the Bar in 2015, she was a solicitor in an international law firm specialising in commercial litigation and regulatory matters. She holds a bachelor’s degree in PRC laws from Peking University and has passed the PRC National Judicial Examination.

Justin Lam

Justin was called to the Bar in 2024 after his completion of pupillage with Mr. Earl Deng, Mr. Thomas WK Wong, Mr. Martin Wong and Mr. Tony Li SC.

Before commencing pupillage, Justin completed his LLM at the London School of Economics and Political Science, focusing on corporate and commercial law.

Justin is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. He is developing a broad practice and accepts instructions in all areas.
